Overview

Cisco Catalyst 4500E supervis engine 7-E/2 is the redundant engine of supervis 7-E f 4507R-E/4507R+E 4510R-E/4510R+E. Supervis 7-E/2 is the first Catalyst switch combines with Cisco IOS XE software, the feature enables In-Service-Software-Upgrade (ISSU) with less than 200 msec and Nonstop Fwarding/Stateful Switchover (NSF/SSO). The combination delivers continuous packet fwarding with no disruption of the communication during upgrade/downgrade the Cisco IOS software supervis engine switchover during the primary supervis engine fails. In fact, the primary supervis is active and response f nmal system operation, the standby/secondary supervis engine monits the primary supervis engine and fully synchronizes the infmation to allow immediate switchover in subsecond time when the primary fails. The resiliency features of the Cisco Catalyst 4500E prevent netwk outages that could result in lost business and revenue.
